Bali most popular vacation destinations

It seems that Bali is becoming one of the most popular vacation destinations in the last few years. Every time I go on Facebook it seems like someone is looking for recommendations on places to see and things to do in Bali, I have friends and family who have visited or are planning to visit the beautiful island and honestly Ive just gotten tired of having to think and type it out every time so I thought its time I just write it all out, tell you all my thoughts, and hopefully it’ll help someone out.
First things first, Bali is beautiful, but its a different way of life. If you don’t want to see poverty, garbage, stray dogs, and have to deal with crazy traffic, and pushy salesmen this may not be the place for you. But if you’re willing to look past all that, you will find an island with the kindness people, beautiful beaches, delicious food, and villas you could only dream about all for a relatively low price.
When we first arrived at the airport, my first thought was holy fuck its hot and then I realized how busy and overwhelming it was. We were smart enough to arrange a transfer to our villa beforehand which I would highly recommend, its one less thing to worry about when you’re arriving in a new country. We saw our driver holding a sign with our name and walked to his car. The drive to our first stop Sanur wasn’t too long but it was quite the culture shock, the locals driving blew my mind, and then you add in the tourists on scooters who have no idea what they’re doing, and it amazed me how little accidents there were. It seemed that when I looked to my right all I could see was big name brand stores and if I looked to my right I saw rivers flowing with garbage. Being someone who had only traveled North America and Europe this was a big change for me.
We were in Indonesia for 3 weeks and visited 8 different places on this trip Sanur, Cangu, Ubud, Padang, Gili T, Gili Meno, Gili Air, and Kuta. I’ll go into more detail about each place individually in separate posts but I’ll just write the highlights here.
