The Tegalalang rice terraces are one of the most famous tourist destinations in Bali situated in Tegalalang village just north of Ubud. The village is one of the 3 most beautiful terraced landscapes in the region, with the other two being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan.
Although Tegalalang is rapidly becoming a bit touristy, this ancient valley is definitely worth a visit as it still has an unmistakeable timelessness about it. The town of Ubud lies in the uplands of Bali and is known as a center for traditional Balinese crafts, dance and culture.
Home to one of Balis Royal families, the surrounding rainforest and terraced rice paddies are peppered with Hindu temples, shrines, and some of Balis most famous landscapes.
