When I went back to THE island, was not for fun, tryin to find out a meaning behind a full circle of ceremonies that take place together around the temple (or house or any sacred space) while the high caste priest (pedanda) is running his exoteric ritual hidden by essoteric ceremonies.. even if it has been like Fear and Floating in LA’s script (i.e. a crazy trip without a clear end), following the flow i met so many extraordinary people. One of them is my bro @wedesuagus, here dancing in the role of King Dalem Waturengong, an historical ancient king in one of Balinese Kingdoms. Topeng is a sacred theater-dance that represent the story of the King and a divine brahmana priest, Sidha Karya, wich will appear as the last (and most important) mask of the ritual… but if you want to discover more.. wait for next post!
