3 years ago my sister & I went to Bali for 3 weeks. She was assaulted on a back road in Seminyak when we were walking (a Balinese man pulled over & grabbed her breasts then rode off). We were also mugged at an ATM of $300 by 3 Balinese men in Kuta.
I think it’s because we were two girls in our mid-20s on our own. It was SO scary.

Defiantly fly with Garuda, apart from being a really great airline with amazing on board service and facilities, they are the only airline who will still fly in and out of Bali if there is ash cloud from the very active volcano. This is because they fly at a higher altitude, so much less of a chance of getting a flight delayed or cancelled!!
Also if you want to stay somewhere nice thats out of the hustle of bustle of Kuta, but still among the action, stay at Legian! Any of the hotels along sunset strip on Legian beach are amazing, especially the Jayakarta!
If anyone has any more questions, i am more than happy to help out, I’m 19 and have been going to Bali twice a year since i was 3 so i have done it all! haha

So what are the best places to stay ? I heard a lot about Kuta, that is wasnt a nice place to stay. And what would be the best itinerary when you start from Denpasar airport ? Do you have the name of the villa you loved that much 🙂 ? Probably going on my own, solo.

You’re only in the air for like 6 – 7 hours.. just fly with whichever is cheapest… I’d understand if you were flying for 24+ hours, but seriously… I can forgo in-flight entertainment for 6 hours.. Bring a book

Don’t fly with air Asia- no in flight entertainment, terrible food which you have to pay for – and don’t stay in Ubud – it’s too far out and looooong car drives. I would like to go back one day flying with geruda and staying in Seminyak. The resorts I stayed in were amazing – paradise . My villa was horrible haha and looked so nice on line so keep in mind pictures tell lies sometimes
