This video brought so many good memories from Nuda Penida. We were there 4 years are and for the whole week we were there, any attraction places were empty, we had it all to ourselves โคโคโค Looks like they improved steps on Kelingking as it was much worse then and actually views are the best from top, not bottom. I’m shocked how touristy this place got ๐ฑ๐ฑ

Careful in selecting what boat company you use for transport. Just Google ‘BOAT ACCIDENTS BALI’ and you will learn about some horrifying accidents.

Driving motorbike can save you a lot of time on this island. If you plan to go to Kelingking beach use proper shoes. If you’re not used to move a bit think twice about going there because the “nice” stairs you saw in this video are only at the beginning. It only gets worse. Much worse… and long! On the direct sunshine it can be really exhausting so definitely bring some water with you. BTW a big bottle of water down there costs about 150k. However when you get down there you’ll be rewarded big time! One of the nicest beaches I’ve ever visited!

hello friend .. you should be able to take photos on palluang cliffs, when you visit the beach klingking & need extra days to swim with manta rays, there is one of my favorite beaches that are very beautiful in the eastern part of Nusa Penida, which is called Suwehan beach, beach it becomes foggy, when the sun does not shine on it, and don’t forget to visit the beach & Tembeling forest, in the southwest of Nusa Penida … There is a natural pool, which is adjacent to the lip of the beach … and there are still many exotic places hidden in Nusa Penida…๐๐

The whole island is a bloody nightmare to get around. Depending on when you go there can be thousands of people. Roads are terrible. Crowds are horrendous. Views are beautiful but wasted a full day trying to get everywhere. Like everywhere tourists are ruining this place. We thought crystal bay was terrible. Couldnt wait to leave. I hate saying it but 20 to 30 years ago these places were magic. Now you just fight your way through hundreds of tourists.

God it looks horrifying now! So many people and warungs. When I went to Atuh beach in 2013, 2014 and 2016 it still wasn’t like that at all. was super quiet we were the only ones, no umbrealls or anything, just a peacful teample! no stairs, we had to climb down the hill and jump a bit into the water! we couldn’t go down to diamond beach becasue the stairs were not built yet, but it was still magical to admire it from above. I’m sure that beautiful, pristine beach is totally TRASHED now by tourism

great video! only criticism is slow down with you’re talking. You guys seem stressed out and feeling like you have to get all the info out in one breath. I was in Bali and Nusa Penida from the end of the December 2018 til mid January 2019. It is rainy season on that time. Maybe it depends on year but we had not much rain and when it rained then it was the evening time.
In my opinion , it seemed there are not so many people ( tourists ) on that period ,and some prices are also little cheaper ( like accommodation)

Tips
People usually come to Nusa Penida for 2 Days 1 Night
Better if you going to the west first, Angel Billabong, Broken Beach and Finish your day at Crystal Bay for the Sunset
On Day two, you can visit Atuh Beach and Rumah Pohon
For the Backpacker, and can drive a motorcycle, you can rent a motorcycle at the Toyapakeh Pier, aboout 100 IDR /day
Nusa Penida only have on long street, so its very easy to find your destiny
Happy Holiday !!!

I spent 5 days there in Feb and it was amazing. I hired a scooter and had no issues at all. If you are confident in riding then theres no issue. I have to say that you did the full tourist tour. There is so much more to see on the Island and places that have zero tourists. Also if you turned left when leaving the Port you landed on there are lost of restaurants to eat along that stretch of road. You need a minimum 4 days on the Island. Only downside is the place is starting to really boom and the amount of rubbish left in the bush behind Kelingking beach and other spots is crazy.

Just repost that here so every one can see about the prices ๐ :150,000 Rp is the price for the fast boat to nusa penida, yes, but you can rather take the ferry from Padang Bay. This ferry take one hour and you won’t have to get your feet in the water, but that is not the important fact haha, mostly you pay it between 20,000 to 25,000 Rp ! (to get there you can just order a gojek on the app or take a perama bus, book it on the website it’s only 75000 from kuta to padangbay, one hour and half by car). You should arrive at Buyuk Harbour. Also we never had to pay any 25,000 or other Rp fees to get on the island, only the price of the ferry. So if the fast boat really reassuring you, then go, but know you will pay the expensive price, probably the price that 1st have been invented for tourists, it’s the same price I would be paying in Europe for the same kind of trip… And certainly not all locals can afford that… Anyway there is not a real comfort difference between ferry and fast boat, not a noticeable one in any case ! Hope it’s help, enjoy everyone !

I was there in 2016. Atuh beach had only one small shop where a lady selling similar kind of a Nasi Goreng dish. Diamond beach had no access. Kelingking had no access to it’s top. We even had to ask a few people to help us to find a van to bring us from the port to Atuh beach. I’m amazed by seeing how Nusa Penida has changed during this short time.

If you would’ve went down at kelingking beach you would’ve seen that it’s really dangerous to go all the way down, especially in sandals or flipflop, because towards the end, there’s only some bambus on the sides that you can grab and at the very end there’s literraly nothing. and the steps aren’t cemented, you just step on random rocks. so please please be very careful going down!

I really appreciate how informative this video is. Hubby and I were there a couple of weeks ago. Loved the views the island has to offer but totally agree with the roads! They are horrendous. Worth getting a driver for the day than risking getting hurt on a scooter. We had met a couple of people with nasty injuries from riding a scooter on NP.

When instagramers follow not just an account but also a photo trip looking for same photos one to each other happens what itโs happening all over the world. Nothing is bad in nature, neither roads or ports in other countries, just instagramers been like if they are travelers when are not. Look at your funny and city sandals to get down all over Nusa instead of criticized their poor infrastructures. Forgets your cameras and social media and you will know what i am talking about. Travel is to feed our soul, not our insta accounts. Cheers.

We did it a year ago with a scooter and it was difficult in some places but fun…just drive slowly and itโs fine. We stayed several days on the island visiting different spots including all the ones you went to…but diamond beach was not accessible yet, no stairs! Angels billabong was really calm with low tide and we swam in it. Atuh beach we went two different days and the colours change all the time, it can be really beautiful. Because you didn’t go down to Klingking beach, I think I need to tell you that you’ve made a bad and good decision at the same time. It’s good decision because the way down there is WAY very dangerous, like you have to step on rocks like a cliff-climbing without safety rope! And if you’re a faint-hearted plus you’re afraid of height, it would be very terrifying for you if you go down. But it’s also a bad decision that you didn’t go down because it IS worth it!! The beach is VERY beautiful. Those huge waves are amazing, I mean, when you’re there and you’re not there everyday, you gotta taste that water. But yeah once again, to see something that beautiful, it takes a lot, and in this case it takes guts and energy. I was there on October 8-9 and I visited Diamond, Suwehan, and Klingking. I have another trip plan by the end of October, and I will visit other places.

just want to explain, for pay idr 25.000 (around $2) when entering the island is legal. They clarify it for regional retribution, because I have been there with my bf, he is foreigner. And it is legal and only for foreigners not for local. I’ve read the government rules . I hope this helps.

Thank you for providing honest thoughts and tips about Nusa Penida, I’m visiting in November. I wanna know about the beaches which we can do swimming, snorkeling etc.

Hereโs the thing with foreigners and scooters not just in Nusa Penida, but Bali in general. Some of them rides like they have 9 lives. And just learnt while theyโre in Bali. Itโs not only endangering their own life but also other people on the road. They donโt understand the traffic flows. Iโve been to Nusa Penida a few times now and it just amazes me the amount of foreigners who would ride on those shonky roads, and have had a really bad accidents, not even the locals would be crazy enough to do that. Seems like some people left their common sense back home when they travel. Keep safe Peeps
