For me this house would be a liability and limiting and bigger doesn’t always mean better. I want to travel more and invest in businesses and prefer outdoor activities and social gatherings in other expensive resorts and helping others (like our donation drive for frontliners now) which makes me happier as time passes vs beautiful things because our brains have ”hedonic adaptations” for beautiful things. There is sweet spot of floor area per person for enough privacy yet brings people closer together. But it is just for me, this house is absolutely great though esp if you always invite your friends and if you are happy with it, that is great and props to you for creating this. I love the hanging plants on the outside. I’ll try them on the house (just right size for 4 people…maybe 1/7th of this house and fully airconditioned the wholw year with solar panels and a helper) we will build this year after pandemic.

I guess this is not a full ownership house. Since in Indonesia foreigner is not allowed to fully own a property. The only chance for a foreigner is first to establish a company in Indonesia, then buy a property or land where you can build the house, with ownership title as owning “the rights to use it”

Congratulations to amazing house.I love your video.I have been watching it over and over as I have been recovering from corona virus.Could you comment please on the plants which are inside separate wall along your house and you can see them throw the windows from inside.They are very effective.I noticed you have doors from your utility for easy access to them.And they have open roof.Also to access your study you have to go outside on balcony, correct ? There is no other connection from inside.And do you have more storage on the roof as you go up ? I can see staircase only.but.it looks there is storage room too.

you could make the extra rooftop space an outdoor movie space and have a screen that rises up from the floor so u can also use the area as an outdoor gym. Adding in some comfortable furniture that packs away easily would make it more convenient to easily transform it into your gym space. A rooftop gym would be nice to exercise in/on because of the view, and an outdoor theatre would be fun and cozy.

It didn’t cost as much money as if it was built in America or Europe. Basically to any bule with some enough money, this huge kinda-like-mansion can be done within a fair price. Bc the currency used is rupiah which 1:10.000++ to dollar and euro. The labor wage is also way more cheaper. Not surprised they could build this breathtaking house in a breathtaking landscape. I bet all those custom furnitures cost more money than the building itself.

Neat home. I think a home loses some of the luxurious feel when people comment how they ran out of money, but everything is custom. I would think the ceiling on the main floor is a priority as a room that occupants spend a lot of time in.

Im soooo impressed with the effort you both put building a home from scratch♥️♥️ well done with the themes and the ideas are so great and everything goes well together. Just was a little disappointed when i saw the same room in three different spaces. It would be better if every room had its style (but still do relate to each other). Other than that i see perfection in every inch. A small idea of the spaces left, i dont know if you both are planning to have kids….but consider making a play area on the roof (keeping the safety measures in mind ofc). Any other space in the house could be turned into an adult hangout area with a pool table or maybe a table tennis. Another small tip, if i were you i would have a bigger walk in dressing room where i keep all my things with more mirrors and lighting.

Also, tbh it is so annoying that more and more immigrants, especially Australians, have migrated and successfully monopoly Bali. I do not know how easier it was for you guys to manage all of these things but I am hoping you bought the land with a fair price. Also, following the official Indonesian’s rules and laws. This is so sad for me to see that so many local people give up or let immigrants buying their land especially in a really cheap price. the contractor was right, you don’t use marble in pools lmao it stains and turns yellow so easy with water and plus that’s one of the lowest grades cheapest marble you used so it’ll change color so quickly, other than that you have a beautiful house 🙂

Those construction workers did some amazing work!
I suggest more tall plants to fill the space, it’s lovely.
Fire pits at least three beautiful one and the use of fire glass in them will add a lovely touch of shimmer against the sun or moon light.
A pair of White Bird of Paradise plants would be such grand statements on the roof or inside the living area…your guy’s house is spectacular!💎

Love this house !!!…To finish off the rooftop I would create an exotic oasis…First off for safety reasons create an industrial fence that doesn’t take anything away from the gorgeous views..Imagine as your guests walk into it on a custom made pathway, being hugged by lush colorful tropical plants, ( Yes you need more color), soft lights hanging, local wood handcrafted bar with a bbq grill, sheer curtains surrounding the lounge area with a corrugated aluminum fire pit and hot tub to match…Soft luxurious feel yet backdropped by your industrial theme…Eye candy for your soul…

Ideas for your rooftop : You could make like a mini golf course with a putting green (if you love golf of course), or as you sometimes see in hotels a huge chess board. Still I would leave one side for lounging with a nice bar and maybe an electric fire pit. Or a large screen (or on the wall) for beautiful chill nights of Netflix or any other movie in the outdoors. It could also be an ideal place for an outdoor kitchen including barbecue or even a tropical fruit and vegetable garden.
