When I was in Bali in 1976, I ate a magic mushroom omelette the night I was going to the monkey dance. When I was in the hut that I was staying in it started to shake like there was a great earthquake. I came out and started walking along the beach to the monkey dance. It looked like the islands volcanoes were exploding the colours of the rainbow. I lost all sense of direction and time the only way I could find my way there was from hearing the chanting in the distance. When it stopped I stopped until I arrived at an ancient stone temple that was over grown with large tree that was full of monkeys. They could see into my past and were judging me. I knew that they could rip me apart with their sharp teeth and claws if they so desired. They could see that I loved nature and wanted to preserve and look after it. The next thing I know I was up in the tree but they had all disappeared. I climbed down the tree and continued to the dance which was just outside from where the experience occurred. After emptying my pockets of money that I scattered like when feeding birds to the locals delight, I stood near the gate as the people were leaving they were staring at me with wide eyes and even stumbling. I thought this is the centre of the world and because I didn’t enter the world is not ready to end for now.. Pretty trippy hey ….just thought I’d share as it was a special event in my life
