Over 1,000 years, Balinese Hindu

For over 1,000 years, Balinese Hindu worshipers have come to Pura Tirta Empul (Holy Water Temple) to cleanse their souls and receive blessings. Last month, the Wildly Woven retreaters underwent the ritual that millions before us have done.
The first 10 fountains we drank and bathed in are to purge and cleanse different vices like anger, jealousy, lethargy and selfishness. Fountains 11 and 12 are reserved for the dead, and are not for bathing. 13 is to dispel bad dreams. 14 and 15 are to balance karma, and 16 is to heal and prevent bodily injury, disease and deterioration.
