A really whitewashed depiction of Bali. A version where there is no trash, no conflicts with foreigners and really generally a depiction that creates a false impression of this place. One only needs to look into some real Bali groups on FB to see how much tension and strife there is from local people regarding depictions like this. I have even read posts about extreme hatred of tourists and how much these people just want all foreigners to leave! Dont believe me? Look for yourselves on FB groups. Sad. Hai renata, A lot of new tourist come to indonesia just now java island (jakarta,bandung, yogyakarta) and bali for vacation but if you have more time in indonesia You must visit raja ampat in papua province thats place is real deal nature paradise, lake toba (biggest lake in south east asia with big island in the midle of the lake) its in north sumatera province, kalimantan island(have biggest rain forest in indonesia), etc.

Bali has long lost its natural beauty. One thing i hate about Bali is it’s overly commercialized. They even try to sell things that aren’t supposed to be for sale. Admittedly, Bali is a miniature of Indonesia as it has beaches, volcanoes, paddy fields, friendly people and good food. So if you only have about a week to spend in Indonesia, Bali is probably the best to go to. Of course it is also one of the most expensive places to live in Indonesia. The high number of foreigners living in Bali has jacked up prices incredibly such that, despite it being located in Indonesia, it is only affordable mostly to US$ earners.
Sadly Bali seems to forget that it was local tourists who help tourism in Bali get back up, after the two sinister events (2 Bali bombings) which caused many foreign tourists avoid Bali for years..

Technically, taking candy or chocolate on the offering is not wrong, i often did it when i was kid, especially in my own family temple (sanggah).
But today, it is a bit different.
Balinese today tend to use cheap and nasty candy/chocolate for offering, because they are cheaper for sure, so it is not gonna be really good in taste.
And beside that, taking some candy/chocolate randomly somewhere, it is also not really good, because it is just not our area, not our “home”.
We don’t know what candy it is, how long it is already there, is it expired already or not.
Those kind of questioned avoid us to take candy from offering randomly somewhere.

But if my mom put a piece Swiss chocolate on offering in my family temple, on the next hours, off course i am gonna take it. 😀
Some kind of offering (especially foods, fruits) actually mean to be taken, a while after it being offered, as something that already got blessed.
