This is one of the most prominent spiritual symbols to me. The lotus flower grows in murky waters with its roots embedded in mud. Each night the Lotus retracts into the murky waters, symbolic of a death and then re-blossoms the next day with no sign of debris or mud on its petals. Its known to have a daily death and rebirth.
This beautiful flower is a reminder for me that we need the mud to grow but we dont need to carry it around with us. And those from the dirtiest waters still bloom into beautiful living things for others to admire and appreciate.
To me, its a symbol of purity, hope, strength and perseverance.
Perhaps we are all lotus flowers.
