Trying to find words is hard. I’m so sad about what this virus is doing to our world – to all those affected directly but also to those who have lost their livelihoods and had their lives changed by it – the world over. Looking down at the world from this view on a tiny island in Indonesia at the start of the year, even in my wildest dreams, I could not have fathomed a world of the nature of today’s. And yet, every day there are small signs of progress – scientifically, politically, conscientiously – we must latch on to these, if only to their filaments and build something new for ourselves in this world of uncertainties.
