Why do I love traveling and diving into other cultures.

Why do I love traveling and diving into other cultures…?

Because I swear EVERY SINGLE time I always learn something more about myself and it allows me to be more mindful and think deeper.

Ive been to places that have given me incredible culture shock. Not being able to read anything or understand anyone. And its scary and fascinating all rolled into one. That something as simple (yet complex) like our languages that can completely divide us and create that fear. The fear of feeling lost, alone, maybe unheard, and completely out of place. I honestly believe, we all need to feel that once in a while.

It pushes you ENTIRELY out of your comfort zone. Creates extremely vulnerable moments. And forces you to really explore how to communicate and relate with someone else outside of language.

Traveling also provides me with hope. Seeing a beautiful culture in Bali where people are patient, giving, and kind, is hopeful. Our shuttle driver on day one found out we really enjoyed mangosteen tea. And on day two he selflessly surprised us with a bag of them to try. A man who worked hard for his earnings. Who took the time to show us Bali and bring us to his favorite lunch spot. Shared stories with us. Truly cared. Someone who was a stranger, but quickly became someone who will forever be part of my Bali story BECAUSE of his acts of KINDNESS. Kindness that seems simple. But to me? It was THAT kindness and welcome that quickly made Bali one of my favorite places. A place where you could easily feel uncomfortable by all the differences…The Balinese people made all those differences easier to eventually, not only find comfort in but so much inspiration too
