These assholes actually recommend renting a motorbike right from the start. Plus! They even state it is some of the most challenging driving they have ever experienced. I was waiting for the disclosure that your should only rent a motor bike if you are an experienced driver. And what is very unfortunate is that they forgot to mention that if you follow their advice and rent a motorbike, make sure to bring a few rolls of duct-tape: you’ll need it after you crash and need to cover up your roadrash. This is probably what the hospital will actually provide you with, so at least you will know that the tape covering you wounds hasn’t been sitting in a locker for 3 years.
Bottom-Line: before you rent a motor bike, make sure you do your research and talk with a local. Motorbike cashes are one of the leading causes of death of tourists in SEA. Don’t get around this way unless you have experience driving a motorcycle/motorbike and are licensed! Also, there are many shops that will charge you for a totaled motorbike even if you just scuff the tires.

Sidemen is like an improved version of Ubud without the tourists so consider this place when you are in Bali.. soon we are making a video for this amazing place that is the last one of our 2 months bali trip but we enjoyed so much

We loved using Grab when possible, however please be careful of the local taxi mafias. They don’t take kindly to Grab drivers n the area. Do some research on this issue before you go. It made some bad impact on our travel there.

Awesome video as always! So Grab is good in Bali? We tried Grab in Bangkok and could not get a driver that was less than 25 minutes away or that canceled after 5 min. Any suggestions on which countries/areas in SE Asia to use and not use Grab? Maybe Bangkok was not a good Grab area or we were doing something wrong.

My Indonesian wife once asked my why bule (boolay: white people) pronounce Ubud as oobood. She thought it ridiculous. You sound even more like a tourist when you do this. oobud is actully closer to the pronunciation, and you might as well pronounce it that way. The second syllable does have some long U sound, but not like in the word food. And the accent is not on the second syllable (it’s on both equally), and that’s a lot of the problem. So if you’re white, just say oobud, with the bud like the bud of a flower. It’s much closer to correct.
