The annoying thing about Bali is that you’re walking down the street and they always ask where are you from
I reply back to them and say to them instead of Country which I’m living in Australia now I say to them I’m from my Mum Dad bang bang mum out comes ME they laugh at it and a great conversation starts 😂😂👍🇮🇩

Pistol

If they give you a ridiculous price I always give them a ridiculous price back to them then they’ll tell you if they want your business or not 👍🤟🇮🇩

Great video thanks guys. Travelling from the UK to bali soon. Whats the best thing to do about cash/spends. Im going to take GBP over. If i were to take £2000 over (we still have hotels to pay for and i don’t want to use card if i can help it) and get exchanged all at once. Would that give me the problem of having logistically too much cash to carry round? I see the biggest note they do is 100.000. Which is only about £5.50. So will have loads! The idea was to just get it all changed at once at a reputable shop. Then keep in hotel safes. Then i know where I’m at. Any advice from anyone would be great! Thanks 😎

You two obliviously haven’t been to Canada or USA. In Canada the price on the menu is before tax and tip.
A burger will usually cost 15-20 dollars at a restaurant in Canada and once you get your bill it will be 15% more and you will need to pay a tip.

Burning a dead body is in their religion. They didn’t burn the body because they were poor or uncultured or something like that.Hindus are burnt after death.

Loved this. It’s probably the best tip video I’ve seen for newer travellers to Indonesia, a lot of the videos I watch like this are always so advanced

I am a frequent Bali traveller but always love watching these videos to see if I learn anything new,
Only thing I noted is the ice comment- ice is actually fine in Bali in today’s age- you would have probably noticed the ice has big round holes in it- this is the ice that’s been manufactured with spring water in a factory and you find 95% of restaurants and accommodations use this ice so it is completely safe for us tourists- some places do crush the ice so you can just double check by asking if it safe ice and they know what that means and I’ve never had someone tell me no

I got sick on my first trip to Bali, but never again, and honestly my biggest tip is just hygiene, whilst in Bali majority of us are handling cash all the time and if your not thinking you can easily touch something then eat it with contaminated hands, always carry hand sanitiser and thoroughly wash hands when you can. I know it sounds gross but I don’t carry cash in my everyday life so on my
First Bali trip it’s something that skipped my mind a few times not going to lie.
Also be mindful of scratching open wounds and mosquitoes bites- this is how I believe I got sick, mosquito lotion and repellent is a life saver as they are vicious, it’s also worth noting to take malaria tablets and vaccinations for typhoid and hepatitis A as a precaution as mosquitoes can also carry diseases like these, I haven’t gotten sick since my first time there

Other than that very spot on loved the tips

Take my advice… If you want to eat, wash your hands first… Then ask the waitress about the food, is it spicy or no? If it is, just tell them not to put a spicy sauce…

I often seen someone eating without washing their hands… I’ve never had a bali belly actually…

Ice in your drinks are fine, the ice is controlled by the government and the filter everything to make sure it’s healthy

While there are many positives in Bali for tourists , the two negatives that stand out for me is how the taxi drivers can annoy you , I was harassed every minute while in Bali asking if I wanted a taxi even when I was leaving the country at the departure section about 40 taxi drivers asked me if I needed a taxi and the food at the airport would have to be the most expensive and the worst selection in the world , example , $18 for a small block of chocolate , $12 for a dried up slice of pizza

Charcoal I bring for my stomach and I bring mushrooms immune boosters. I also bring oils to settle stomach issues.

Been to Bali twice .. Must see place if you haven’t been there but it has gotten way too touristy in the last years and be prepared for some nasty traffic .. Stay away from the drinks that have ice cubes in them .. Soft drinks , ice-water , cocktails with ice , anything .. You don’t really know where the water that has made those ice cubes comes from .. Also be very cautious about eating meat , especially if it’s been sitting out for a while .. Other than that , just rent a motorbike ( 5 usd a day ) and explore the island : -)

Go to Bali allways take Imodium, amoxicillin, Ciprofloxacin, Lofenoxal with you, these will fix 90% of any travelers tummy issues. Lot of people dont prepare for Asian or 3rd world countries. Its a food culture shock that causes tummy issues it’s not Bali belly. Bali belly is you’re lying on the floor for 5 days can’t do nothing. Prepare by taking probiotics, travellan etc. And if you do get sick for more than 24 hours call a doctor and a $50 needle will fix you nothing worse than laying in a bed for 3 days on holiday

There are so many places that don’t charge taxes. Bali in the next 10 years will become another Fiji (out pricing its self) Vietnam and Cambodia are the new places. Good video still.

Hi Eleanor, awesome vid. Curious, what is the name of the pill you guys mentioned to kill the bacteria if you come down with Bali Belly? You had mentioned it was around 400,000 IDR or so. Going to Bali next year and just want to try and be prepared with the names of the medicine just incase I come down with any sickness. Thank you!!!! 🙂

Don’t eat salad, don’t drink juices, NEVER have ice in drinks, and don’t eat meat or fish. If it’s not freshly cooked, vegetarian, and piping hot … don’t eat it. As for being “ripped off”, that has much to do attitude and body language … the more western you behave, the more you’ll be harassed. And fair enough, too.

Thanks for a very informative video. We plan on going to Bali next year, so am busy researching it. We have spent some time in Thailand, so agree 100% with your comments on approaching Bali, South East Asia really, with an open mind and to expect cultural differences.

Even in Thailand, we had people approaching us all the time, but a firm no thank you, or if they persist, just ignoring them, worked well.

Of course, sticking to local food, even in the higher end restaurants, saved a bit of money there. We also do not plan on hiring scooters/mopeds, and would either rather walk, take a tour, or hire a driver, as the case may be.

Now I have to watch your other Vlogs about Bali! 🙂

BTW, you also have at least one viewer from South Africa! 😀
