Hi
You should have checked out Collections in Nusa Dua. They have a large amount of little restaurants there where the food is great and the prices are brilliant. We ate there many times and had a lovely time of it.

Well done Mate!!!

Great video. I’m off to Bali for the first time in June, staying in Seminyak for 10 days. Your information will be very beneficial I’m sure.

Monica Gouldby

Thank you for your info. We are planning on traveling to Bali in Oct and would definitely hire the driver for the day. What do you think about the Legian Beach area? Having a hard time deciding where to stay. We love heading out in the evening and visiting the local restaurants and shops. Considering the Legian Bali…not sure though.

Hi there, my fiance and i going to Bali next month, and oh my your tips are just what we needed, first time traveler to Bali, Thank you so much for clearly and very helpful tips you have share, I end up subscribed you for more advise, we enjoy watching you for more of your videos, we will surely contact your driver, but one more question, how many places did you fit in to visit in one day?

Ben Heilman

Good video. Thanks for posting it. We live in Cambodia and are used to driving on small roads and lots of traffic. We are a family of 5 and are weighing options for renting a car w/ a driver or just renting the car and self driving. What do you think? I have driven on the left side of the road before (we are on the right here in Cambodia) but do you think I will lose out on relaxing by driving myself? I can save $20 dollars a day by self driving. what do you think?

P Pollock

Hi there, I’m planning to go to Bali on my own. Would you say its safe for a female to be travelling around alone?

V3EEM

I’ve just booked bali for 7 nights in November… thanks for this video very informative

The Taboocast

Your tips are awesome. We’re planning on a short trip to Bali for FHT 2018 Mar 1-3 at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center. Staying at Ibis Styles Nusa Dua and heard that not many restaurants around besides dining at hotels. Heard about tourists taxi ripped off drama, thinking of renting car but not so sure if that was wise idea. I planned to also swing by Potato Head Beach Club in Semiyak as a DJ to explore the nightlife on the island and wonder how far from Nusa Dua area. It looks similar to Samui island and here to share my podcast with you https://aou722.wixsite.com/thetaboocast

Is it worth taking rupiah to Bali?

Lokman Mohamed

Disgusting taxi service from Ngurah Rai airport to hotels along Kuta beach. Yesteday I paid IRP200,000 from Bali airport to Lusa Inn which is less than 4km. A local fren later that day mentioned that I was ripped off because the usual taxi fare should not exceed IRP85,000. My advise is that when those of you planning a trip to Bali, book your taxi service online along with air tickets provided by online travel agencies such as AirasiaGo, Agoda, Traveloka and etc. Sharing is caring.

Angel Richard

you didn’t mention Sanur, otherwise very good

Thomas.S. Karat

Just booked you driver, 50 usd for the whole day, perfect. Thanks for the tip!

Hi, I recently visited Bali and used Nyoman as a guide as per your recommendation. Thank you so much he was very feasible and also helpful. Next trip is to Thailand Phuket Patong then phi phi. Any tips for that trip?

fg tumewu

Its good information about Bali, you missed Canggu, its now the most populair place for young people, which is also a combination of rice field, good restaurants, good vegan restaurants, nice beach clubs, good nite life and relax athmosphere best

Steve Fisher

Really well done. Especially the part about the currency. I can imagine it was a real pain to keep so many bills in your wallet. I have traveled quite a bit and yet never would have thought about that. The advice on getting a tour guide for your own trips is great. I did this in Bangkok and what I like is you pretty much get to do what you want on your own terms and it is so much more enjoyable this way. Great stuff.

tinpenak

thanks for making the video, i hope it wont be to rainy when we visit in late jan 18!

Legian is also a good place, busy if you want it casual if you want. Allways bring $$ with you. So much easier. Day trips can become to much, see the same things over and over. Taxi/drivers are the way to go. Good video still

Bali if one of my favorite places of all time!

From someone who travels to Bali twice a year, it’s all about Seminyak and Jimbaran Bay. Avoid staying in Ubud due to the humidity, heat and bugs, but visit. Nusa Dua is pretty average, some decent resorts, reefy beaches, expensive activities, no night life. You want a resort, Ayana/Rhimba at Jimbaran Bay, but Seminyak is the best location given the restaurants, great accommodation, distance to activities and night life.

Did you pay your private driver upon pick up or when you were returned to your hotel? 🙂

Kelli Sue

What a shame you left out Sanur. I’ve stayed at all the places you mentioned – Nusa Dua, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Ubud, and Sanur is my favourite out of all of them! It’s like a mixture of the best of all the places you mentioned – nice beaches like Nusa Dua, chilled out like Ubud, market shopping like Kuta/Legian, gorgeous restaurants like Seminyak. Next time do Nusa Dua/Ubud/Sanur. You won’t be sorry!

Kerry Duggan

Fabulous tips! I have watched countless videos on Bali and nobody mentioned the customs declaration, or the currency issue.. We’re going to Bali soon and coming from Ireland (so we use Euros) but I’ll definitely get some dollars to save the hassle of going to the ATM all the time.

BigBallVlogs

I agree with all these tips. I spent 2 weeks in april and I still didn’t get to the islands and other areas. I had not issue with airport security. I pretty much walked throught in like 30 minutes with no multiple checks and didn’t see any bomb screening except for under the cars as you entered hotel. I am also a fan of Thailand. I’m thinking of going back in November or April for songkran…. good video

Makhosazana

I booked a few nights in Seminyak and a few more in Caggu. What can yu say about Caggu

Makhosazana

Very wonderful tips but I just wish your voice wasn’t so depressing. It just dampens the mood

Loz’s Leisure

Gonna be there in a few weeks! So excited. Definitely checking out Ubud and Seminyak, not sure about where else though yet. Enjoyed watching this vid again having now booked my flights!

Mather Brown Travel

Oh, you have been to Bail. We are hoping it’s our destination for next year. Busy researching. Your advice really is helpful, thanks so much 👍🏽

Janet Michel

Totally agree with Kuta info, it’s a total dump and the beaches are filthy. Seminyak l stayed February 2017 same as Kuta, a filthy dump. Never been to Nosa Doa but don’t want to be too isolated. Ubud l go to every year for a month and just love the place.Use credit card to draw cash all over the world and never had a problem even in India. Pay the hotel with credit card, no problem, ever. Agree with your tour info but also pick up a driver outside any local shop. 50dollars for a day sounds somewhat exuberant. Usually when l arrive l go upstairs to the drop off zone and find a driver dropping people off who usually change half the price.Wouldn’t go to Bali for less than three weeks, it’s an amazing place.

ThePowerPUFFGirl5

Very helpful! I will be taking a solo trip to Ubud and Seminyak. Do you recommend it for a solo traveler?

Paul Piper

Great video. We are traveling to Bali in October staying at the St. Regis. I’m not sure if I missed it, but what was the name of the driver you suggested? Thanks. I’m a subscriber now!

Good spot on tips! Next time you come, however, don’t miss East and West Bali; they also have wonderful landscapes to see and nice places to stay and relax – a very authentic side of Bali 😀

Hello, your video is helpful, thank you. Our family is traveling to bali soon for a wedding and a nice holiday with the extended family. My husband wanted to pack a gift from the states to Bali, kitchen cutlery (nice cooking knifes and the sort) as a wedding gift. Would Bali security have a problem with such a wrapped gift in our luggage?

Totally agree with you on all the suggestions that you made! when we visited Bali a few years back, we stayed in Kuta, but kept going to Nusa Dua! Definitely the most beautiful beach out there! And hiring a driver is a must, we had him for all 8 days we were there 😉

I did enjoy the Bali series as I did this video in that it is very infomative indeed. As far as opinion goes…. you are allowed to have one and voice it and I think the way you do it is far better than just following the latest craze…..or indeed go to a travel agent….I can´t listen to these people anymore, because they generally have no idea what they´re talking about.
Well done sir.:)
