We arrived in Siargao on Saturday afternoon for 6 nights. Woke up on Sunday to find out we had to leave before the island was locked down. We escaped on the last flight out on Monday! Gutted to leave so soon but on first impressions it was an amazing place to visit

Few quick things that might help people.

1. Nightlife, there is now a midnight curfew so the nightlife of old is no more in terms of how late. However this may change again soon.
2. Tricycle rides should NOT be 50 per person, this is more than double the standard rate for most journeys around General Luna to Catangnan.
3. Internet, while not good is better depending on location, around the tower in Catangnan it can be quite fast, and in a few resorts/cafes you will be able to do a lot.
4. Getting to the island from MNL can be hella expensive, I usually pay just over $100.

Been here for almost a year now, and it’s changing super fast. Unfortunately most changes are not for the best like the first domestic cruise arriving in June but no hospital here on the island.

Fan of your videos but you’ve left out some essential points.
1. There are basically no swimmable sandy bottom beaches.
2. During high season everything gets booked up and if you haven’t booked in advance you’ll be sleeping on the beach.
3. Beware of riptides. Nearly lost a buddy who is a very strong swimmer.
I went a couple years after seeing one of your videos and was very disappointed. If you’re not a surfer this island really isn’t for you. I’ve traveled to over 65 countries for beaches and unfortunately this near the bottom of my list.
