Guys, it’s a great video! Thanks! I want to add about bike rental in Bali:
If you rent a motorcycle, check that the tires are not worn out. Tire wear indicators will help you; in addition, if there are some strange attritions, cracks, it is better you refuse to rent such scooter or try to ask for tires change. Usually, renters do not refuse. Remember that bad tires reduce the braking efficiency in two times, and badly worn tires may burst at the most inopportune moment.
It is better to take a motorbike with Combi-brake โ a braking system with two wheels when you press one brake.
Carefully check the brakes, headlights, turn signals.
Balinese and Indonesians do not obey traffic rules, they follow โthe codeโ. โThe codeโ is a set of general courtesy rules that were adopted in the family, in the village and not formulated in writing. So it is useless and even dangerous to rely on international traffic rules when you travel to Bali until you begin to delve into โthe codeโ.
But there are fines for breaking the rules) – about fines in Bali: here is a very detailed article on this topic – https://balimotion.pro/en/blog/fines-in-bali-what-are-fined-and-how-to-avoid – for some fines imprisonment

DO NOT brush your teeth with tap water!!! And if you wash your hands with it, you need to use hand sanitizer straight after. There is so much bacteria in the water, it WILL make you sick! So many people think it’s okay to brush your teeth with tap water but it’s NOT! You should also be careful about ice cubes, ask the restaurant if its safe water and they will tell you, same with the little salads on the sides of the dishes, they may possibly wash it in tap water (the warung places usually always use tap water as they can’t afford bottled) Be very careful!

Oustanding guys. I am planning a trip and this answered just about all my questions. But, what about ATMs? I am one of those who land at the airport and just get my local money from an ATM. So, any info on ATMs?

Gojek and grab is convenient. But you have to know at some places some locals hate them because of their competition. Friend of mine told me he saw a tourist and her family forced to get out from the car(grab). Some even try to break the glass. Becareful

the one about online driver (gojek and grab) dont pick you up from the place you want, is maybe because you are in airport, station, etc. there is a competition between conventional and online driver, so the conventional prohibit online driver to take passenger too close from that place

The earthquake advice is WRONG for Bali. In 30 years of living here I have never seen a building which has collapsed. The people who are killed or injured have all been subject to falling debris or have lost their footing.
If you are very frightened, get under a table or such which cannot collapse (you might want to push the chairs in for extra support.)
DO NOT RUN OUTSIDE!

Best info so far!
Let me add on some of my 3 stories of experience : if you stay longer than 30 days (like I did, not knowing when I booked my travel time 32 days) you pay about 40$ for visa on arrival and another 40$ to extend it within those 30 days, which is a hassle at the immigration!!! My gf, who is a Philippina was not allowed to extend her 30 days, so she has to pay a fine of 70$ for each single day of extension = almost 150$ for 2 days!
Money exchange rates are VERY bad. You rather try to pay with credit card when you can or withdraw from ATMs at a MUCH better rate!
SIM cards are cheap, yes. Make sure, yours is valid for 30 days (they sold me one, which expired after 10 days)

2020 Update from personal experience never get closer to a Local, since they stole my phone from my hand and some of them tried to ask me stupid questions just to get closer and stole my belongings or sell me fake products such as coffee, soups, leather or silver. I don’t think that they are friendly anymore. They are so poor they will do anything to stole your belongings. To have a nice holiday try to avoid Local people.

This video is very informative, useful and carefully presented about the fact and no assumption. Very good video! Just additional info for exchanging money particularly from USD to IDR that if you have new USD bill that is clean and crispy the value is slightly going up from 15 to 25 IDR. I just thing , well Locals canโt eat poison daily to avoid malaria for there entire life . Itโs not sustainable .
And that being said I have been bit by a million mosquitos living in se Asia for almost 20 years, and as a white American I have been fine.
Only got food poisoning once in 20 years.
Foreigners are crazy taking so many pills.
Your body will build a tolerance to things just adapt slowly .

If you travel by motorbike through the part of Bali that is south of the airport (like Jimbaran Beach area) the police have road blocks where they stop everyone with white skin no matter what. Doesn’t matter if you’ve broken any rules or not. They want to see your international driver’s permit. Since almost nobody has one, they’ve got you where they want you. “Oh, this is very serious” the officer said to me. But then of course comes their generous offer that the problem can go away if you pay them some money (aka a bribe). It doesn’t have to be that much so just keep maybe $50,000 Rupiah or so with you prepared for this to give them and tell them that’s all you have. If you have more they’ll take that too. They want to look through your backpack and pockets to make sure you don’t have more so hide it in a good place. Don’t make a big deal about it or these guys can ruin your trip if you want to make trouble for them. And don’t call it a bribe or they’ll lose face. Paying this bribery even if you got caught 10 times it’s still cheaper and easier than the extreme hassle of getting an International Driver’s permit and getting it stamped in the motorbike section.

don’t clean your teeth with tap water it isn’t worth the risk and stay away from salads washed in water. you may not die from Bali belly, but it sure ruins part of your trip.
Travel Insurance; many credit cards have good free travel insurance and some have bad travel insurance, do your homework and the annual card fee is much cheaper than other travel insurance especially on long trips. My card costs me A$90 a year and includes travel insurance for up to a 6 month trip (if I return home and go again the next day 6 months starts again) it is for both of us just by buying the flights with the card.

Doing a marathon of all Int Affair videos and I gotta say these are the most informative travel guides on YouTube. Planning to go on a Southeast Asia trip in 2020 as a solo female traveler (since it is pretty hard to find someone who would travel for months straight). Totally into all the adventures these two are doing but by looking at my physique, I am very tiny and thus might get me in some pretty dangerous situations. Would sure love company (and someone to split the cost) so maybe ping me and we can plan out some trips together? Hoping someone out there is also in the same boat as me haha.

sorry but I have to say after coming to Bali this video was filled with bullshit the major two being
-the WiFi is insanely bad and essentially unusable every place I’ve stayed, to the point where I’ve lost a lot of money. not only that but several sites are blocked unless you use a VPN which slows down bad connections even more. I really wish I hadn’t believed this video because I felt so sure that there would be no problems accessing the ‘blazingly fast’ Internet. I struggle to load a webpage most days in my $25/night guesthouse.
-the assertion that the food is sooooo cheap is a little misleading. sure it’s cheaper than US but not really compared to other SE Asian countries. I actually ate at that exact same Warung and though it was relatively inexpensive it was an anomaly and definitely the cheapest I’ve seen here by far. The buffet food was old and not that good and even when you order off the menu I’d say you definitely get what you pay for considering the portions and cheap ingredients. They also were complaining loudly about how ‘of course’ Westerners didn’t tip them after they left. I feel that the quality and portions you get are WELL in line with the price you pay.. READ: SMALLISH. IE $5 for a gyro with ONE piece of meat in it and stuffed with fries to cut costs, a $3 banh mi that’s really like some mini banh mi that could be given as a sample.. drinks that aren’t water are ridiculously overpriced even at the store
Bali is nice but after being here a three weeks I have to say it’s massively overrated.

Alcohol expensive ! $1.50 a Beer ! Who goes to Bali to buy European spirits especially a day after you have been through Duty Free, look I go to Bali most years and if you know your way around two people can walk into a bar and crawl out some hours later for under $50 !
Can’t do that any where in the States and im not talking Arak, the only place in Asia cheaper is Vietnam, Cambodia and Loas.

Some good tips in here, but (unlike their advice) DO buy your electrical adaptors BEFORE traveling to Bali. He says you can buy one for as little as a dollar, but it will be a piece of crap; might even start a fire. This Ceptics brand type C is good for Americans:
Ceptics European Travel Plug Adapter, Ceptics Europe Power Adaptor Charger Dual Input – Ultra Compact – Light Weight – USA to any Type C Countries such as Italy, Iceland, Austria and More (CT-9C)

I’ve travelled around the world. Bali is the most dishonest place where i’ve suffered unprecedented levels of harassment on the streets.
Be extremely cautious and vigilant here and read about all the known scams they run there, Ignore all the people trying to sell you drugs they are working in conjunction with the corrupt police force to force you to bribe your way out of a situation.
Download the bluebird taxi app and just try to stay calm when 50 taxi drivers try to rip you off each day.
Ignore all the crappy souvineer shops, they have no price tags with the purpose of trying to rip you off and pressure you into making a purchase. Stick with upmarket shops in areas like Ubud.
Be advised that when you book a tour the price advertised is *only* travel cost and they will ask you for additional admission fees and costs which can double the advertised price.
From the moment you land to the moment you are leaving the Island people are trying to prey on you. Ignore people in the airport under the guise of officials, the whole Island is a scam. Don’t let airport porters near your luggage when you are leaving (another scam).
Overall Bali has incredible beauty marred by all the thieves and opportunists that live and work there. Be warned if you are a person who likes peace and doesn’t like being touched and harassed this place is *NOT* for you.
praveen govi

Thanks for the update. Pleased note that the apps grab and gojek are foreign owned and the money goes off shore . Must locals donโt make a lot of money. Plus I found out that there are two prices one from the airport and then one for outside so be careful when using.

Its best to just draw money from the ATM also the market in Ubud do the bait and switch on the products they sell…all visitors should know this. The beaches and ocean are covered in plastic waste. My husband got dengue fever from the mosquitoes there. Some things you.might add to your list.
Milton Drageset
great info! where are you finding all of your chill hop music for the vids?
Josefina Pablo
You guys are great! Thank you for all the info!!! Safe travels!

Great guide..just one importnat remark. Don’t drive motorbike if you have no decent experience, It’s very dangerous and we saw few tourists crash. Buy a local sim card, download Grab and GoJack (a bit cheaper than Grab) and you will be perfectly fine. Just have in mind that they are banned in Ubud and not common in the North. Also at many of the tourist attractions the local drivers dont allow them to stop so you need to go a bit aside. Fo ar full day trips you can hire a driver, the price will be around 500K to 800K for full day and this will save you a lot of headaches.
Cleo Regia
No Bali please, there are lot of many places in Indonesia than Bali.

I just found you on YouTube. As someone who goes to Bali 3 times a year and has a decent command of Bahasa Indonesia. I have to say your video is dead on. From what apps you will need, money exchanging advice, bring TP with you when you travel, to telling the taxi driver to turn on meter, your advise is the same as I give to people. Your advice actually made me smile because it was so accurate. Keep up the good work. You just got another subscriber. Also, I love your Thailand videos.

I travel to, and around the many islands in Indonesia routinely and found your recommendations and information spot on.ย PLEASE, anyone planning to travel to Bali, start here!ย I even learned some things I didn’t know. I love how you started with the practical considerations. Outstanding and valuable information, presented by two people who really are trying to educate and not simply entertain.ย Well done ย ๐
I hope you do a video on Menjangan some time…it is a beautiful area on Bali, with few tourists.ย The diving and nature preserve are spectacular.ย The endemic deer that live on the beach and wade into the waterย are fun to watch.
From my experience, here are a few more random considerations for traveling to Bali…
-travel insurance: If you are older, have any health considerations, make sure to purchase trip insuranceย with anย evacuation benefit.ย My spouse dislocated his hip on a SCUBA diving trip and had the Dr. not been able to re-set his hip, evacuation to Singapore was a real possibility.
-if you have to visit the Dr. in Indonesia, make sure toย bring cash for payment…though I believe BIMC takes credit cards.ย Your health card from home won’t be accepted.ย You should expect to pay before treatment and seek reimbursement when you get home.ย Treatment for dislocated hip was $700 (a bargain, compared to US costs).
-tropical conditions can quickly turnย small cuts and scrapes turn into systemic infections.ย I always bring small tubes of Neosporin and Benadryl. Visit your travel medicine department (my health plan includes this service) and tell them where you are going.ย ย They can giveย you Cipro, antibiotics etc. for common travel related illnesses.
-Bringย small gifts from your home country for the lovely people you will meet.
-Respect for cultural practices requests menstruating womenย not to enter temples…and take heed the adviceย to bring tampons! Especially if you need S or U. They are not sold here.
-Be the first morningย shopper at a store and negotiate for “morning price.” This brings good luck to the operator, who will say, “good luck for you, good luck for me” while touching the money to the items in the store.
-1L alcohol in plastic bottles, purchased at home can safely travel in checked luggage.
Ankur Gupta

This is not the real Bali, that disappeared over 40 years ago. This is just another modern tourist sh*thole. Before Kuta Beach had only one tin shack restaurant called Poppies serving magic mushroom omelettes. You are just another pair of tourists with lots of money who has no idea about the once real Bali. You are fake.

Grab is good for transportation but not all hotel allow grab to pick you up there. So becareful. And always pay cash to grab or gojek.

VOA may be extended with the help of a local….you DO require a return ticket…doesn’t have to be “home” but just out of Indonesia. Do take care that you have provision for travel should the airport be shut due to volcanic dust.
Plastic bags are now banned from shops and minimarkets.
Grab/Gojek drivers run a “scam”…if they get the job but the traffic is heavy, they will give it to a fellow driver who is closer.

Thank you for posting this. Iโll be traveling to Bali in September. This helps a lot.

Great video with some extremely useful tips.
I’d like to add a few things, such as:
1. I had many issues getting any of my US based credit cards to work with Grab, so I had to pay cash for all of my trips. Something to keep in mind.
2. The locals really don’t like Grab and you will see signs protesting their usage in Ubud, Kuta and Denpasar, for example.
3. As for taxis, you don’t need to find them in the major tourist areas as they will always find you.
4. Finally, I found that homestays run by locals will oftentimes rent you scooters for 40k IDR per day on average.

interesting, so Grab takes credit card payments in Indonesia. I know in Thailand, at least in Pattaya, you use Grab to call a car but pay the driver cash once the trip is completed.

Thank you for creating this video. It really helped me with my travel in bali. One thing i learned as well is that, it’s better to withdraw money from atm machines instead of money changer. Our 1 peso is equivalent to 268 rupia but when you go to money changer our 1 peso is equivalent to 200 rupia. It’s a big save up.

Indonesia is beautiful country, but it is also the worst when it comes to tourist rip off. Most places try to charge you twice the original price to tourist, but in Indonesia, it’s not uncommon to see them trying to charge you 10 times or even higher the price to tourist. I was also attacked by a shopkeeper in Bali. My girlfriend was looking around for a beach towel and the shopkeeper tried to charge us $80USD for one. Needless to say, I pulled her arm saying let’s just go, and shop owner got offended and smacked my hand hard enough to leave bruises

Excellent Guide. A must see item for all wanting to visit Bali. The advise on Money changer is apt. Do not fall for higher rates. If you plan to visit Kawah Ijen carry enough money with you. If you are unable to climb you will need to spend about SGD 90 per person to be trundled up by two or three people.Bali is indeed paradise. Do not pack selfie stick in hand baggage. It will be confiscated at Denpesar airport.

Grab and Go Jek are also not needed… Bluebird taxi’s are dirt cheap and take you anywhere…they’re also the only company to always run the meter
LOL at your pronounciation of Ubud ๐
also… no “nice shirts” are needed. Guys can walk into 99% of clubs in shorts and thongs (Sky Garden is maybe the only exception)
You can get anywhere without a bike or scooter… in fact, the biggest cause of death for tourists in Bali are scooter accidents. It’s probs better to avoid them.
Counting money in front of you won’t stop money disappearing ๐
You should also probably avoid brushing your teeth with the water too… also avoid ice in dingy looking bars… if it is a big popular club, they have ice imported but not all do…
JESUS… 6 EARTHQUAKES? I have spent countless months in Bali and never experienced one

I used your guide for my solo trip to El Nido a few months back. You absolutely prepared me for everything and I wholeheartedly appreciate your no BS guides. I am planning a trip for the the upcoming summer to Bali and I am super excited about it. Thank you for all of the thorough and honest information. I have one question however, I am looking into flights from Seoul, South Korea to Bali and the ticket that I’m looking at which will take me to Bali has a 1 stop lay over in Kuala Lumpur. Underneath the ticket it says, “A transit visa may be required.” Do you have any advice on how to determine if I need this and if I do how to actually acquire it? I am American (I’m not sure if that is helpful information). Any input would be super valued and appreciated. Regardless, thank you again for everything.

I was in Bali two weeks ago and booked a car and a driver with Balitour. We were charged 550k per day for 10 hour tour daily. The driver always took us to fancy restaurants where the prices were 5 to 6 times more than local prices. Imagine Nasi Goreng for 120k, yea that kind of prices. We tried telling the driver that we wanted to go to normal, inexpensive restaurants but the driver told us itโs for our stomachs safety that we shouldnโt eat at locals. One advice Iโd like to give to travelers in Bali is to stay away from hiring a driver if you hire a car. Go without driver, or stay away from Balitour car service.

I travel to Ubud, Bali every year for two weeks and have been doing so for years. This is one of the best videos on Bali I have seen. There is a lot of info here that will make a persons visit much easier. The info on what to do during an earthquake needs a little updating, having served on the earthquake preparedness program for California let me suggest a couple of better ideas: If outside or in a restaurant or store get somewhere away from buildings and kneel down on one knee, keep you head on a swivel in all directions watching for fallen debris. If inside your hotel or motel sit in the door way with you legs around the door frame, this is the strongest part of the room, keep you head on a swivel. Once the quake stops get out as fast as you can, but keep your head on a swivel in every direction. Don’t try to run or drive during an earthquake because the ground is moving in ways you never thought possible. Now, the sad part. I have been in Ubud during earthquakes and volcanic eruptions rescue response is very slow so help as many people as you can.

Great comprehensive list of advice for people travelling to Bali.
Just one thing though, in regards to saying that if you’re careful then you should probably pass on travel insurance – I disagree. Anyone travelling anywhere overseas, especially Bali, should take out travel insurance. It costs about $400 just to see a doctor in Bali and a few thousand (or more) if you have to go to hospital. Plenty of people get Bali belly and need to see a doctor, or they can catch something like Dengue Fever (my friend’s son caught Dengue Fever in Bali last year) where they will need to be hopitalised. Then there are things like earthquakes, getting robbed or losing your phone, etc. It cost me $52 for 2 weeks insurance. My advice is ALWAYS get travel insurance ๐

Some great points guys. May I just give a few updates/ insights…
Lezat? Yeah, it’s ‘hmmm “correct”. But, “enaaak”, is a used day to day by every Indonesian.
Unfortunately, outside of a 4 star hotel, wifi is not “strong”. it’s getting there but…not yet. Go for an Indonesian SIM card. Currently, “Tri” (3 Hutchinson) offer 30GB/ 30 days mifi for IRp 110,000. Great in urban areas. If you’re more intrepid, Simpati is the rural choice.
Ice – “if they’re serving it, it’s “clean”? Again, unless it’s a starred hotel, or more upscale cafe/ restaurant in the Kuta area? It’s not a sure bet. At least, the norm for 99% of warungs, is to boil water before using it to make ice.
Tampons – actually, available in any chain mini-mart, Cocomart, Alfamart, Indomaret. Ahhh, progress.
Driving/ riding – since Indonesia implemented (I say that loosely) an Anti-corruption campaign, Police are seriously out of pocket. To compensate, “Reziah” stop-checks have tripled. If stopped, and seen to be lacking, you will be fined. But, at least it will be the official rate.
Money – Bank rates are terrible. Most independent currency exchanges are worse. Dirgahayu Valuta Prima are the best licenced chain available (Balibestrate.com). Mastercard/ Visa travel cash cards are a must. But, be aware, although your card provider may not charge per transaction, whichever bank ATM you use will charge you, no doubt. Typically US$2-3 per withdrawal. So, take the maximum available (IRp 2,500,000) if you can, each time. Using your cards to shop at supermarkets and mini-marts, will be fee free. And, always ask to pay in Rupiah. As, the rate will always be far better than if paying in your home currency.
Electric – although true, Indonesia runs on 220V, the actual wattage varies alot. Due to this, be prepared to wait twice as long for your gadgets to charge. Potable chargers are cheap to buy at any mobile phone shop or kiosk.
Alcohol – True. So expensive (if of course we’re not speaking about the two local varieties). But, hey remember Indonesia is a Islamic State. Alcohol is illegal. Bali has a kinda “unspoken agreement”, allowing the sale of alcohol on the island. Anywhere else in Indonesia, it’s forbidden, and actually enforced.
Insurance – A must, for sure. As mentioned, the Ring of Fire is going though a massive shift at the moment. Unless you find a policy specifically giving natural disaster coverage, you won’t be covered for volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or tsunami etc. That includes any airport delays, extra nights of hotel stay. And, importantly, injury due to natural disaster.
Finally, sarong (kamen) rental – that IRp 5,000 you pay? That goes to maintaining that 500+ year old temple you’re just about to enjoy. But, of course, if a chose.
Silakan nikmati di Pulau Dewa! Om Swasti Astu. Makasih.

Guys, I dont recommend you buy the $1 adaptors or those expansion adapters either as they met and burn pretty easily.. I’ve lived in Bali for 12 years and have seen too many house fires..

Solid. Thinking about moving to Bali for the bomb waves. I’ve been living in Hawaii for the past 10 years…the girlfriend moved away 8/18 to the Philippines for study to become a drug lord (pharmacist). My job with Hilti came to an end and I’m tired of wearing adult itchy pants. That being said, I decided to move to Las Vegas for a year and give poker a try. Not the lifestyle for me…the grind is no good. I’ll be seeing 200K from an inheritance , thanks granddad, and off to Bali thereafter is the plan. The information shared in this video was awesome. Love the tag team approach. Mahalo Nui Loa!

Good video, but Bali has no good beaches or waterfalls. Anyone who says they have, has never travelled in there life. But in saying that it does have a very nice culture to it and it is a nice cheap place to visit. Do not go there expecting Paradise it is what it is it is a cheap destination for a cheap holiday. And it can be Fun, if You get your head around it. People forget that this is not a Western country it’s close to a third world country . Depending where you go

Get a Charles Schwab debit card…I never use exchange counters unless I have random currency from another trip. The Charles card works at every ATM I’ve been to and you get reimbursed at the end of the month. The exchange in most cases is waaaay better than any exchange booth. Good luck and don’t be scared to do online banking.

I’m going to Bali in May. Could you tell me the secret where is that places from 9:12, 16.52, 22:56? Thanks!

Great video, but I just need to add two things. Be very careful with the spirits in Bali, there is a chance that it may contain methanol, which 30mls can kill you. Stick to bottled drinks only (Bintang, Smirnoff ice) always make sure you see them open it. Or bring duty-free and only drink that. I really recommend the Facebook page Just Don’t Drink Spirts In Bali. Lots of information there. Also always get travel insurance when you leave the country, it’s pretty cheap for basic cover, and the last thing you need is to end up with $100k+ of medical bills.

AJIEK ใขใค STONEMAN
TFI , great video, very informative.
BTW, “CANANG” pronounced “cha-nang”.
Try the local foods, such as “NASI PADANG”.; the RENDANG is the best, and, AYAM KREMES, or NASI CAMPUR BALI.
Go to small islands : GILI TRAWANGAN, Gili AIR ( air is water), Gili MENO. To go there from Bali, you can find travel which they will pick you up from your hotel, to the harbour then change to a fast boat. For return trips usually around $45 per person, they will take you back to your hotel in Bali island again. PS: Never go to small Money Chamger! Find the one which Authorized and NO Comission, is every where, though …. Take care, ENJOY!

Hey guys! This is so well thought out and informative.I was in Bali in December. I was shocked at how polluted the water and beaches were in Seminyak, and Canguu. I have never seen that level of garbage. Were there beaches you found to be clean and desirable to go in the ocean? The people there are so wonderful, and I agree, if you feel something is sketchy-don’t do it! I liked Ubud, but definitely felt the presence of millions of other tourists.

Iam not Balinese .. I was jealous and sad , why foreigners only visit Bali while Indonesia has 17800 tropical islands, I don’t understand why Indonesian tourism is just centered in Bali. Anyone who is renting a motorbike without the proper licensing and experience with riding in that area of the world is a fool. Tourists are routinely killed in motorbike accidents in Bali. An Australian guy died in the last few days from one.

as a balinese i think this travelling guide is awesome,, love it,, for when to visit, if i can add something, u shud come to bali at local event is happen like annual bali art festival or penggrupukan. at penggrupukan (happen couple day ago) u will see ogoh-ogoh festival all around the island but denpasar have greatest event so make sure u check it. in next day u will experience silence day called Nyepi, all public area closed literally whole island shuts down so some ppl maybe see it boring but pls respect it. others event u can check it at google.
hope u all enjoy ur stay in bali,,
pls come again to our island,, ๐

This information was really true especially for you guys who want to get accomodation like taxi with cheaper price by using Grab or Gojek. Anyway if you get sick around Bali, don’t try to buy medicine buy yourself in here at pharmacist because most of them just giving you medication without did physical examination. My recommendation is you can find another local clinic around your place if you just got “not high-risk” of illness. I’ve went before to local clinic that was called dr. Adi and Associates in Nakula Street, Legian-Kuta, Bali. In this clinic they provided the best services with affordable prices. The nurses and doctor are really friendly, able to speak english fluently, and also they gave information briefly about your disease. At that time I got Bali Belly (some kind of diarrhea) and it cost me around 330 AUD (physical examination, 3 shots of injection, and 5 types of pills including antibiotic). It is much cheaper with travel insurance that cover me almost 10,000 AUD. If you get sick and choose to go to the hospital nearby there, the cost can be 4-5 times more! If you are not in emergency condition, local clinic can be much better choice. Oh yeah, I just forgot to tell that for someone who has KITAS, the prices are going down to half for medical service in this clinic for tourists. The review on Google is quite good too.
Baris Kilic
Great informations that are really related to everyday situations. Thanks for that!
We’re flying in early April to Bali and hope the weather will be well.
Also, did you encounter police while driving scooter? How was it? I read a lot that they are very corrupt and don’t care if you have all needed licenses and want you to pay anyways.

Great advice but one thing that I disagree with is your advice on travel insurance. Everyone must have travel insurance regardless of whether they are risk takers etc. or not. I know of at least a couple of young and fit people who were not engaging in anything adventurous and had medical emergencies or death. Without travel insurance the bills would be enormous and would have to be funded by families or go fund me.
