Well… i am from indonesia.. maybe you have to learn how to bargain… or you have to find indonesian friend. Because you got really high price for food. Maybe it because you are foreigner. But, it really shock me. The price of satay (10 pieces) is just around 14.000 rupiah or 1 USD. Babi Guling and Ayam betutu maybe have a similiar price, around 30.000 rupiah or 2.1 USD. And some place can be really tricky. Ex: if you come to denpasar, and eat babi guling chandra at Teuku Umar st., dont eat in there, you just need to order in cashier for take away, and the price is as what you like. My price is 15.000, and i think its enough, but if you want more toppings,you just have to rise your price. Become 20.000 or maybe 30.000. But, i suggest you to use delivery application like GoJek, to ordering your food. So you dont have to queue and i guarantee you will got a fair food. If you want to eat seafood with a good price, tell me, i know where is the best place in bali.. lol.. bali is like my second home.

Try to visit traditional market or even to modern market, located in many places in Jakarta. There is Pasar Baru and Glodok area in Central Jakarta. Best visit in the morning till noon. In North area of Jakarta u can go to Kelapa Gading or Pantai Indah Kapuk to find more recent trend.In West Jakarta u can go to Tanjung duren for student friendly budget street food. Best visit aroud noon to evening. For South Jakarta u can go to Kemang.
