The coolest place I ever stayed was the Siesta Key Palms Inn in Sarasota, Florida. I thought I booked a cheap little room with a kitchenette, but I got SO much more. Lush, well-kept grounds with music piped throughout, beautiful pools, tropically-decorated rooms with all you need for a week’s stay, a large grill and picnic area, and hammocks everywhere. A great Key West vibe, very chill. All it lacked was a bar/restaurant, but I suspect they’re working on that. Sarasota was fantastic, but even if it wasn’t, I’d go back just to stay at the Siesta Key Palms again.

Coolest place I have been is Little Palm Island resort in the Florida Keys. I imagine it took a big hit in the recent hurricane…..but they are rebuilding for reopening in 2019. No cell service. no TVs…just super comfy huts…very quiet. Showers are outside and lizards come up to visit you. Very expensive food and beverage, but you can purchase a package for that. Only way there is by boat, but they offer scheduled trips back to Key West. Just a very chill experience. The only way we got to do it was because my wife worked for the hotel company.

Wow, that place is absolutely magnificent!!! It’s funny, it kinda reminds me of the villa in one of my favourite ‘oldie’ movies called ‘This House Possessed’ (1981).
The price may look very steep, but I imagine that if you can get all the rooms filled with family and/or friends, and share the costs, it becomes a steal 🙂
