First heard about Uluwatu around 40years ago when an Australian surfer Peter Drouyn surfed it in a movie called Morning of the Earth.No crowds then.Unfortunately tourism spoils everything but thats the way it goes.Just got back from Bali and could not believe such a beautiful people and so much rubbish especially after a visit to Kuta. Uluwatu is still a great spot but crowded.

I like watching the surfers – this is expert territory so i did not surf – did yoga on the beach though and loved it — Uluwatu is my favorite part of Bali besides Ubud.
