It is difficult to imagine any other artiste perform this role with so much elan and perfection. It was a role tailor made for Kamal and he just moulded into the character with ease considering that he is such a great expert in classical dancing. In this ever green classic, he has shown his versatility both in dancing as well as acting skills. It is a film of different genre and has got a nice feel about it. Even after so many years, the freshness is evident and it is a complete film with very good performance all round. Of special mention is Ilayaraja’s music and the natural beauty of Jayaprada. I would rate this as one of the best performances from Kamal for which he deserved a National Award, but unfortunately was not awarded to him.

This Movie’s main characters, both, Balu & Madhavi have a deeply faithful relationship of Love, Admiration, & Mutual Respect for each other, even though they could not get married to each other.. Their ever-memorable good moments together, were based not on lust.. Hats off to such a Pure relationship.. This Movie Director deserves the Whole Credit for making such a Wonderful Movie..

This is an epic creation and a master class in movie making that will stand the test of times. Brilliant in every frame and heart wrenching characterisation. The trio of Kamal, Jayaprada and Sarathbabu are irreplaceable. No one else can pull it off the way they did. And the music…oh dear…this is a pure manifestation of divinity and should specially mention Vairamuthu for his beautiful lyrics (wish we see this side of him more often). Finally, my pranams to the creator -the director, the great K. Vishwanath. I have seen this movie many times and haven’t felt the need to forward or skip. No quantum of praise would suffice.

This is an epic creation and a master class in movie making that will stand the test of times. Brilliant in every frame and heart wrenching characterisation. The trio of Kamal, Jayaprada and Sarathbabu are irreplaceable. No one else can pull it off the way they did. And the music…oh dear…this is a pure manifestation of divinity and should specially mention Vairamuthu for his beautiful lyrics (wish we see this side of him more often). Finally, my pranams to the creator -the director, the great K. Vishwanath. I have seen this movie many times and haven’t felt the need to forward or skip. No quantum of praise would suffice.

It is difficult to imagine any other artiste perform this role with so much elan and perfection. It was a role tailor made for Kamal and he just moulded into the character with ease considering that he is such a great expert in classical dancing. In this ever green classic, he has shown his versatility both in dancing as well as acting skills. It is a film of different genre and has got a nice feel about it. Even after so many years, the freshness is evident and it is a complete film with very good performance all round. Of special mention is Ilayaraja’s music and the natural beauty of Jayaprada. I would rate this as one of the best performances from Kamal for which he deserved a National Award, but unfortunately was not awarded to him.

This is an epic creation and a master class in movie making that will stand the test of times. Brilliant in every frame and heart wrenching characterisation. The trio of Kamal, Jayaprada and Sarathbabu are irreplaceable. No one else can pull it off the way they did. And the music…oh dear…this is a pure manifestation of divinity and should specially mention Vairamuthu for his beautiful lyrics (wish we see this side of him more often). Finally, my pranams to the creator -the director, the great K. Vishwanath. I have seen this movie many times and haven’t felt the need to forward or skip. No quantum of praise would suffice.
