We also have the same version of that pig skin here in the Philippines. The one that is fried, we call that ‘chicharon’ 😊 And that pig with chewy skin, we also have that here, we call that ‘lechon’. But our version of it is, the skin is quite crunchy. And that’s what made it popular in our country. 😊 It’s fun learning that other countries have same food as ours. Being an Indian I am mostly vegetarian and only eat white meat(fish and chicken) and there have been times where I have felt really bad for eating the chicken. The chicken used to live once and roam around freely pecking at things. Did it die because of me? Should I eat it anyways to respect its death? So many questions. But seeing whole animals dead always makes my heart sink. I am slowly changing my diet to vegetarianism. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with eating meat but I wish the animal would be treated with kindness before it was killed.
