People who travel and ruin the planet and cultures in the process, i.e. flying in planes, supporting tourist attractions, indirectly forcing waspy/roman political and economic systems onto other people, etc., are really just trying to fill the emptiness they feel inside themselves because of their severed connection to nature. Notice how people who travel and vacation tend to be folk who are from developed countries, have ancestral and/or current ties to organized salvation religions, are in pursuit of material and gratifying their earthly senses, and generally have a discontented disposition about them. How many suitcases do you own? how many travel kits? how much new shit do you buy for each trip? new water bottle, new shoes, new camera, extended foreign data plan for your cell phone so you can be sure to show all your friends on social media how much fun you are having and how much culture you are absorbing. How much bureaucratic bullshit did you have to go through to be able to travel? I’ve learned more about humanity, nature, the universe, etc., from sitting alone quietly in contemplation under a tree in a local park that I walk to than I could ever hope to learn by traveling the globe, the stars, etc. Traveling and vacationing is a symptom of our degenerated psyche. Stop looking outward and start looking inward, for the sake of humanity and this planet.
